Engagement
Environnemental

SEVAM attaches particular importance to its environmental protection commitments. This eco-responsible approach translates into the following measures:

1Promoting energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy

through the installation of a 3.4 MWp photovoltaic plant for self-consumption. These solar panels will cover 21% of the packaging site's electricity consumption.

2Assessing and minimising the environmental impact of investment projects, and optimising our processes

A major investment was made in 2021 with the refurbishment of packaging furnace no. 2, using recent technology that delivers significant energy savings. This furnace allows for filters to be installed to clean the flue gas, subject to a substantial investment. The gas released would then be filtered, treated and returned for discharge through the chimney, improving CO2 emissions.

3Limiting waste production, recycling it and recovering value from it

through, among other things, closed-loop recycling of recovered glass. Sevam has built a partnership with its customers to collect broken glass or products to be scrapped; these are 100% recyclable, which reduces heavy fuel oil consumption.

4Using resources rationally, in particular water, energy and raw materials

Sevam has launched anti-waste measures including the recycling of cooling water, the recovery of internal cullet and yield improvements.

5Reducing polluting emissions

through long-term leasing contracts for the SEVAM vehicle fleet: vehicles used for business travel are replaced every 4 years, which minimises greenhouse gas emissions from fuel combustion by using cleaner, more efficient engines. SEVAM's adoption of collective transport for employees is part of the same approach, as is the use of electric handling trucks.

6Putting preventive safety measures in place

In particular by bringing the butane tank at the tableware site into compliance
